Melissa Smith

Melissa was Vice President of the Midwest Volleyball Power’s Board of Directors in 2007, it’s inception year and has served as the Club’s Board President and Director of Communications ever since. Melissa is instrumental in the program’s vitality coordinating communications and marketing strategies via email, social media and web based communications for the MVP personnel, players, parents and recruiting coaches. This season marks Coach Smith’s seventh year coaching with Midwest Volleyball Power. She has helped guide two Midwest Volleyball Power teams to USA Junior National Qualifier Tournament championships: Kansas City Show Me in 2012 & Colorado Crossroads in 2014. Coach Smith’s accomplishments at the AAU National Tournament level include: a 9th place finish in 2012, National Champions in the 18 Classic Division in 2015, and a 3rd place finish in 2016. She was also an assistant for the Dakota Valley volleyball team for 3 years and helped guide the team to a State Championship in 2016. When not busy with MVP, she can be found cheering on her daughter Lindsey who plays volleyball at Southern Mississippi University and her son, Tanner who plays basketball for Briar Cliff University.
